We are the only species in the universe (as far as we know) who have the ability to share our personal histories, desires, aspirations, fears and recriminations with others —through all the many ways that we’ve developed. Communication for our species is through our creations —in writing, painting, photographs, dance, etc. Unlike other species, we are able to communicate in non-ritualistic ways, so words can “sing” or fall flat and lay soggily on the page.
